[T/N: Omitted parts not pertaining to Infinite]
Despite the music becoming short-lived, some artworks from a year ago are back on the music charts lately, surprising the music industry.
While Busker Busker’s ‘Cherry Blossom Ending’ took the first place on music charts such as Melon on the 27th, Infinite’s 3rd mini-album ‘Infinitize’ took the 2nd place. Knowing that ‘Cherry Blossom Ending’ was released last year in March and that Infinite’s 3rd album was released in May, it’s a very rare situation.
While Infinite released their 4th mini-album ‘New Challenge’ on the 25th of March and, of course, firmly kept their 1st place on the Hanteo Chart with this album; even their 3rd mini-album remarkably went up to the 2nd place. Last year, they already sold 150,000 copies of this album so the fact that it’s selling again is interpreted as a big influx of new fans of Infinite.
Infinite definitely shows a different color from the standard K-POP so it’s bringing an inflow of new fans to the K-POP market, while keeping a style reminding the 80’s~90’s, they manage to maintain a mass appeal recording an upturn. A representative from the company Woollim Entertainment explained “The influx of new fans from oversea is very noticeable” and “It seems that Infinite is raising the interest in music by holding events and concerts focused on music”.
